Dark Souls (ダークソウル Dāku Souru?) is an action role-playing video game set in an open world environment. It was developed and published for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by From Software in Japan and by Namco Bandai Games internationally.[4] Previously referred to as Project Dark, it is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, From Software's previously released game.[5][clarification needed]

7th.[6] A PC version of the game was released on 24 August 2012 which featured additional content and was labeled as the Prepare to Die
